Why We Are a Private-Pay Practice

Portland Talk Club is an out-of-network (OON), private-pay practice. We do not bill insurance companies directly. We made this intentional choice to protect your privacy and ensure you receive the highest quality of care.

Although we are not in-network with insurance providers, many clients successfully use their out-of-network benefits to receive partial reimbursement for therapy sessions.

Complete Confidentiality

Insurance companies always require a formal mental health diagnosis to approve treatment, which then becomes a permanent part of your medical record. Private pay ensures your therapy journey remains entirely confidential and protected.

No Arbitrary Limits

Insurance providers frequently dictate the exact number of sessions you can attend and the specific type of therapy you receive. Private pay guarantees your care timeline is determined solely by you and your therapist.

Personalized Care

We dedicate our complete time and energy focusing entirely on you and your personalized treatment plan, rather than spending valuable hours doing endless administrative paperwork or negotiating coverage with corporate insurance agents.

Your Right to a "Good Faith Estimate"

Your Right to a "Good Faith Estimate"

Under the law, healthcare providers must give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of their expected medical and mental health care costs.

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your therapy services will cost. We will provide this estimate to you upon scheduling your first appointment, so you have full financial clarity.
